Our beloved Adela H. Martinez, age 85, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 plus years, Tomas Martinez; her parents, Oton L. Hinojosa and Evelia Atkinson-Hinojosa; her daughter, Blanca Estella Martinez; her brothers, Guadalupe Hinojosa, Leopoldo Hinojosa, and Jose Angel Hinojosa; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lydia and Joe King and Marcela and Phillip Luna; brother-in-law, Raul Mendez, and her nephew, Jorge H. Guajardo.

Adela is survived by her loving children, Tomas Martinez, Jr. and his wife, Edie, Benito Martinez, Rose Martinez Marquis, Lydia Palacios and her husband, Aaron, and Xavier Martinez and his wife, Yvonne; her grandchildren, Andrea Sosa and her husband, Mauricio, Benito Martinez, Jr., Melissa Rivas and her husband, Albert, Audrey Martinez, Erica Salazar and her husband, Michael, Jonathan Martinez, Steven Magallanez, Denise Magallanez and  her husband, Fernando Castaneda, Zachary Martinez and his wife, Heather, Richard Marquis, Jr., Jacquelyn Collard and her husband, William, Blanca Marquis, Nathaniel Marquis, Jesse Garcia II, and Jessica Garcia; great grandchildren, Jason Leonard II, Deborah Fernandez and her husband, David, Bianca Magallanez, Aaliyah Moore and her husband, Jaylin, Estrella Martinez, Alicia Martinez, Alyssa Acosta, Christian Rodriguez, Ariana Acosta, Linda Martinez, Isabella Salazar, Hayleigh Martinez, Jenaya Martinez, Michael Salazar, Jr., Erin Salazar, Miah Martinez, Aiden Martinez, Jesse Garcia III, Elijah Castaneda, Tomas Martinez, Emilia Collard, and Austin Fabacher; great-great grandchildren, Arabella Martinez, Aubriana Moore, and Ezekiel Martinez II; her sisters, Ana Maria Mendez, Elvira Sanchez and her husband, Fernando, and Evelia Guajardo; brother, Joe Hinojosa, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest St., Austin, Texas.  San Jose Catholic Church request those attending to arrive at the church no later than 9:30 for Covid screening and seating.  Interment will follow Mass at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
