Obituary of Benito H. Melendrez

Our beloved Benito H. Melendrez, age 71, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacinto Melendrez and Juanita Hernandez; his siblings, Rodolfo, Victor, and Martin. 

Benito is survived by his children, Josephine, Benito Jr. Manuel, Christina, Daniel, Abel, Philip, Samuel, Monica, Richard, Victoria, and Shantel; his siblings, Raul, Alejandro, Robert, Norma, Mary, Adam, and Jacinto Jr.; 45 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many more loving family and friends. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service to begin at 6:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas 78702.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

during this very difficult time.
