Obituary of Josefina Zuniga

Nuestra amada Josefina Zúniga, de 98 años, fue llamada a nuestro Padre Celestial el martes 15 de diciembre de 2020. Falleció pacíficamente rodeada del amor de su familia. Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo de 44 años, Ángel Zúniga; sus hijos, José Luis Zúniga, Eduardo Zúniga y Miguel Zúniga; sus padres, Luz Trejo y Agapita Lara; sus hermanos Librado Trejo, Juan Trejo, Florencio Trejo y Luz Trejo, Jr. y su yerno Manuel Rosiles.

A Josefina le sobreviven sus amados hijos, David Zúniga y su esposa, María de la Leordes Maya, María Merce Villegas, María Zúniga y su esposo, Rubén, Bertha Villegas y su esposo, Jorge, y Carlos Zúniga y la madre de sus hijos, Etelvina García; sus nueras, Rosa Maria Zuniga y Guillermina; 25 nietos, 50 bisnietos y 1 tataranieto, y numerosas sobrinos y otros familiares y amigos amorosos.

El velorio se llevará a cabo de 4: 00-9: 00 p.m. con el rezo del Santo Rosario comenzando a las 7:00 p.m. el domingo 20 de diciembre de 2020 en Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

La misa de entierro cristiano comenzará a las 10:00 a.m. el lunes 21 de diciembre de 2020 en la Iglesia Católica San Francisco Javier, Hwy 183 S, Austin, Texas. Seguirá el entierro en Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Our beloved Josefina Zuniga, age 98, was called to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.  She was preceded in death by his husband of 44 years, Angel Zuniga; her sons, Jose Luis Zuniga, Eduardo Zuniga, and Miguel Zuniga; her parents, Luz Trejo and Agapita Lara; her brothers, Librado Trejo, Juan Trejo, Florencio Trejo, and Luz Trejo, Jr., and her son in law, Manuel Rosiles.

Josefina is survived by her loving children, David Zuniga and his wife, Maria de la Leordes Maya, Maria Merce Villegas, Maria Zuniga and her husband, Ruben, Bertha Villegas and her husband, Jorge, and Carlos Zuniga and the mother of his children, Etelvina Garcia; her daughters-in-law, Rosa Maria Zuniga and Guillermina; 25 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning a 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020, at San Francisco Javier Catholic Church, Hwy 183 S, Austin, Texas.  Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
