Gidget was a very generous person. One of the most organized and detailed professionals I have known. She was always positive and trusting in the Lord. She wanted the best for everyone.
I was fortunate to work with her early in her UTSA career. The photo has a back story. One summer session, Dan Cathy, President of Chick-fil-A, spoke to the students in my marketing class. I mentioned to Dan that Gidget loved Chick-fil-A. He graciously signed “To Gidget” the stuffed cow she is holding.
I am fortunate to have crossed paths with Gidget during my life.

Gidget was always a tremendous support for me as a student at UTSA. Invaluable. She helped me in so many ways, and not just with navigating UTSA bureaucracy. Eventually, I grew to think of her a friend, and she shared many stories about her life with me. I enjoyed seeing her outside the office at our events, too, and meeting her husband. She will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers to Gidget's family.I had the pleasure of meeting Gidget in May of 2015 when I applied for a position with the Social Work Dept. at UTSA she was a panelist on the hiring committee and thanks to her I got the position. Gidget was a person I considered one of my best friends, she may not have known that, but I believe she did. We would go to lunch and just discuss life and work and she always had a positive outlook. Gidget always had a smile on her face and was always positive no matter what the day brought. Gidget will be missed by many and was loved by more, and she was taken far to soon from this earth.
May she rest in peace with the angels and this is only see you later, it is not goodbye because we will all meet again someday.
Sleep in peace my friend.

To the Vasquez Family:
We take this time to express my condolences to the family of Gidget Vasquez. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family during this time of great sadness. Yes we are always sadden to hear about the passing of anyone. All have full understanding that death is clearly our personal enemy.(1 Corinthians 15:26) Today all can find great comfort in knowing that God will soon rid the earth of this enemy. This is what we read from the scriptures. God's inspired words tells us that our Creator would soon rid the earth of all forms of sicknesses and death.(Revelation 21:3-4) Yes never again will anyone get sick, grow old and die. However there is still another promise that God wants families like the Vasquez family to know about. This loving promise deals with the restoring of life back to our love ones who have fallen asleep in death. Directing all grieving hearts back to the scriptures, God tells us that He would soon call to those in the grave to stand up in life again.(John 5:28-29) Just imagine that in the near future this commanding call will go out to a great host of people to stand up in life again. Many will be on hand to witness with their own eyes their love ones standing up in life again. Yes what comforting words that God shares with all who have lost anyone in death. Really there is yet a bright future that await those who have died. To all family members we want to make sure that we are a part of that future for our departed love ones. This can be done by reading all that we can about the resurrection blessing that is near at hand . Reading the nine account that speaks about the resurrection blessing is one way that we strive to be a part of those wonderful future blessings from God. Here is just one example recorded at Acts 9:36-42. I hope that all will continue to allow the scriptures to supply true comfort to your grieving hearts. Remember that when
God makes a promise, it becomes reality. For it is impossible for God to lie.( Titus 1:2)
