Obituary of Joe Cervantes
Our beloved Santos Jose "Joe" Cervantes, age 83, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe & Josephine (Rodriguez) Cervantes and several siblings, Tito Cervantes, Julia Santa Ana & Petra Aleman. He attended Travis High school and was a south Austin man, through and through. As a catcher for the semi-pro Austin Aztecas baseball team, he is remembered for a rare and amazing double play he made at home plate. He most certainly loved watching his Longhorn and Cowboy football teams play. Known for being a jokester, he always enjoyed making people laugh. He was well loved by all who were fortunate to know him and he will be missed dearly.

His loving grandchildren, Jacob Cervantes, Andre Calixto, Elsie Carmona, Lilie Carmona, Cassedy Vasquez (Ryan), Tripp Christopher (Caryn); numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving family and friends throughout the Austin community.
