Felix, you will be greatly missed by us. I enjoyed our conversations and just having you around the house on a regular day without an agenda. You always made us laugh, gave Alexis and me a date night by looking after your grand kids, helped watch our house when we were off to adventures, helped us document our life’s with your love for photography and your family. You shared many precious moments with Zoe and Liam and the rest of us and the hardest part is the realization that there won’t be more of them. Zoe is asking us every day when her Abuelo will come to pick up Marley and we tell her that you are watching over us but won’t come back. We will cherish the memories we have with you. Rest in Peace! Your one and only Son in Law.

I worked with Felix at TWC after transferring to Austin from the Bryan office. What a great guy and advisor. He was always informative and there to help me understand my options in my retirement and 401K plans. I am grateful for his knowledge and friendship. Rest In Peace. GOD knew what plans HE had for you. Jeremiah 29:11

I’m flooded with memories but my childhood memories of you raising us stick out the most. Day trips to small towns outside of Austin, camping trips, picking peaches, swimming at Barton Springs, breakfast at Grandey’s or Kerbey Lane, playing games at Celebration Station and Chucky Cheese, Easter get togethers, comic book shopping at Adobe Mall, catching the latest movie at Presidio 8 on Riverside, the dollar movies off Pleasant Valley, riding in the back of grandpa’s truck without a seatbelt with my cousins, waiting to open presents at midnight on Christmas Eve, Halloweens where you went all out, watching Steven Segal movies, you telling people to watch their language at McDonalds around us kids, the guy that told you to “go back to your country” and you smiling and saying “I’m here.” So many places that aren’t around anymore for me to go by and reminisce.
Wow, your presence was felt and I am so sad you are gone. Miss and love you Dad! Love, Alexis (daughter)

It saddens me that our dear friend Felix left us at such a young age. I started working with Felix in Unemployment Insurance Benefits in 1982 when we were called Texas Employment Commission. He was a very smart guy and had a very sharp and quick wit about him. He was always in a happy mood, never saw him upset, he loved working for the agency and was very committed to his work. He was so excited about retiring and talked about traveling with his family. He was very proud of his family!
We are going to miss you my friend.
May you rest in peace.
Respectfully,
Laura Hernandez

My deepest condolences to Felix’s family and friends. I worked with Felix at TWC for several years. He was one of the good guys. He and I worked in the Tele-Center together. At the end of the day each day, he would say in an ironic tone of voice “otro día de servicio al público.”
