Obituary of Manuela Esquivel

Our beloved Manuela Esquivel, age 91, was called to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Felix Tambunga, of 35 years; her second husband, Rudolph Esquivel, of 19 years; her parents, Perfecto Gonzalez and Guadalupe Cavazos Gonzales; her son, Daniel Tambunga; her brothers, Daniel, Ramon, and Raymundo Gonzalez, and her sisters, Elena Zamora and Irene Chavez.

She is survived by her children, Margarita T. Cardenas (Lee), Maria T. Zuniga (Juan), Armando Tambunga (Anna), Yolanda T. Matias (Ben), Rosalinda T. Dejesus (Louis), Felix Tambunga Jr. (Sabrina), Jerry Tambunga (Lydia), Ruben Tambunga (Michelle), and Ricardo Tambunga; her siblings, Gilbert Gonzalez, Lupita Gonzalez, Rosali Gonzalez, Betty Sosa, and Angela Gonzalez; 26 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren, and many other family members friends. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 8:00 a.m to 9:00 a.m., at Mission Funeral Home East, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas 78702.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., at Mission Funeral Home East, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas 78702. 

Mass of Christian Burial to follow same day at 10:00 a.m., at Saint Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 W Oltorf St, Austin, Texas 78704. 

Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

Visitation is limited in capacity.

The funeral home chapel has restricted occupancy to 50% of its maximum; about 60 persons. 

Please remember to exercise social distancing as often as possible for your safety and the safety of those around you. 

Each person entering the funeral home is required to have a mask

and practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.
