Obituary of Pastor Jesusa Vasquez

Our beloved Pastor Jesusa Vasquez, age 79, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 3, 2020.  She was preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law, Abram Ochoa, Jr. and Jeanette Velasquez Ochoa; her parents, Tomas and Manuela Govea and her brothers, Thomas Govea, Danny Govea, and Robert Govea, and the father of her children, Abram Ochoa, Sr..

Jesusa was born September 11, 1941 in Austin, Texas.  She was a minister for most of her life and Pastor for over 15 years before retiring.

Jesusa is survived by her loving husband, Manuel Vasquez; her children, Becky Vallejo and her husband, Abraham, Irene Infante and her husband, Ruben, Mary Leal and her husband, Joey, Angie Chavez and her husband, Ramiro, Debbie Ochoa and Billy Giles, and Johnny Ochoa and his wife, Isabel; her sister, Dora Lopez and her husband, Pascal; her brother, Roy Govea and his wife, Josie; 16 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 also at the funeral home.  Services will conclude following the service.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted and reduced at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
