I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith?. ?From now on a merited crown awaits me?; on that day the Lord, Just judge that he is, will award it to me-and not only to me, but to all who have looked for his appearing with eager longing?Our beloved, Manuel G. Aguallo, of Austin was born June 27th, 1931 in Goshen, California to parents Francisco and Leonarda Aguallo and raised in Selma, California. Our Heavenly Father called our beloved to his eternal home on Wednesday, January 29th, 2003.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years; Mary Frances Aguallo, beloved daughters; Maria Teresa Aguallo and Anna Maria Aguallo, Beloved Grandson, Raul Aguallo Hernandez all of Austin, Sisters; Refugia Galavis of Tulare, CA., Brothers; Robert Aguallo of Selma, CA., Guadalupe Aguallo of Sanger, CA., Brother-in-Law; Jesse Laguna and family of San Diego, CA., Roberta Phipps and husband, Richard, Nephew; Sonny Laguna and wife, Leta,?Great-Nephews, Shane and Jason Laguna, Great-Great-Nieces; Kayla Dawn and Janae Laguna, Niece; Senovia Laguna Dally and husband Bill, Great-Niece; Laura Ann, Aunts; Margaret and Mauricia Sing, Nephew; Joe Sing, Jr. and wife Anita, Great-Niece; Jennifer Sing and numerous nieces and nephews from California. A very dear and special friend to the Aguallo family, Mary Garcia. He was preceded by his parents, Francisco and Leonarda Aguallo, brothers, John and Nicholas Aguallo.
His strong work ethic began in San Joaquin Valley as a migrant worker. There was not a day that went by that he did not remember working in the fields. Due to his humble beginnings, he matured into a humble and compassionate man. He graduated from Selma High School. He served as a medic in the U.S. Air Force while fighting in the Korean war. Mr. Aguallo was a respected businessman in our community for the past 30 years as owner of Aguallo Florist?Devout parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and member of the Christianity movement, the Curcillistas?He was blessed with a strong faith in our blessed mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Manuel and wife, Frances, led many religious pilgrimages that enabled many senior citizens of our community of Austin to visit numerous holy places throughout Texas and Mexico.
The family of Mr. Aguallo would like to extend their gratitude and heartfelt thanks for their sensitive tender loving care given to their beloved husband and father to: Dr. Thomas Tucker and Dr. Todd Bagwell; the oncology nurses and ancillary staff from the 6th and 7th floor of Seton Hospital; especially Elsa; and to Shela with Robinson Home Healthcare.
Recitation of the holy rosary Friday 7:30pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass of resurrection will be celebrated Saturday at 2:00pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th St.. Committal services will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Laguna, Shane Laguna, Dan Ojeda, Jr., Ronnie Ojeda, Gilbert Villasenor, and Dennis Burns.
A very special thank you to Director Lois Villasenor and family, Charles L. Villasenor, II, Kenneth Villasenor, Johnny Villasenor and Gilbert Cavazos, and the staff of Mission Funeral Home for their compassionate, Professional, and reverend assistance extended to our family in our most difficult and trying moments.
