The time has come to bide farewell to my best friend. It has been thrust on me like a ton of bricks. May God take him in with open arms. Just a little about our story. We met in mechanics class at Travis high school in the early 80's. I remember Joe telling me that he didn't like me because I always asked too many questions. But we because best friends and have been in each others life's ever since. We lived our life's and sometimes that took us to different places. But we never let go of each other and our friendship. To be honest, I have always felt like his brother. His mom was my second mom. I have shared a few pictures of our journey.
Joe was a man that lived his life unafraid to be who he was. I loved him for that. You always knew where you stood with him. We can never replace him. Brother, you will be missed.

with shiny wings he shielded us as his body lay near, no longer will he indure his pain and his feathers would take our tears. He has loved us for all his life and it will only continue and grow stronger from here. For on this Earth his time is done, he will forever be in our hearts and whispering his love in our ears.

Come to Me
God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you, And whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best
