Medrano Cousins posted a condolence
Monday, August 24, 2020
The Medrano cousins mourn the passing our dear friend Nick Medrano Jr. We all grew up with Nick on the Eastside of Austin. Our fathers were brothers and that’s how we all thought of Nick—as a brother. All our good childhood memories include our beloved cousin Nick. Memories of Robert, Leonard and Nick working on and racing their bikes on the unpaved Third Street of our youth. Memories of Medrano cousins working the fields together with Nick being one of the hardest workers. Memories of Nick making “raspas” for his cousins with extra syrup. Memories of Nick in high school and stopping for gas in his old car and all of us chipping in what change we had to keep us going. Memories of him being the best cook at the Men’s Club Breakfast at our neighborhood church—Cristo Rey. All the lives of the Medrano cousins were intertwined and created shared memories of a great, warm, family-oriented, cousin—our cousin Nick.
Our condolences to Nick’s family. Please know that Nick was loved by all and will be missed by all.
—Nick’s Cousins: Mary, Julie, Joe, Paul and Ruben
