Obituary of Apolonio Z. Valdez
Our beloved Apolonio Z. Valdez, age 92, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Monday, July 27, 2020. He is reunited with his loving wife, Lilia Castro Valdez; his daughters, San Juanita "Janie" Ybarra and Diana Valdez; his parents, Santiago and Petra Zarate Valdez; his siblings, Francisco Valdez, Benita Valdez, Victoria Valdez, Jovita Diaz, and Reyes Valdez; and his great-great-grandson, Julian Rene Murillo.
Apolonio is survived by his children, Apolonio "Paul" Valdez, Jr., Armando Valdez, and his wife, Olivia, Ismael Valdez, Francisco Valdez, Marcos Valdez, and Alisia Valdez; 20 precious grandchildren, 52 treasured great-grandchildren, and 26 dear great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Maria Tristan; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning, Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery Street, Austin, Texas.
Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Due to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
Visitation is limited in capacity.
The funeral home chapel has restricted occupancy to 50% of its maximum; about 60 persons.
Please remember to exercise social distancing as often as possible for your safety and the safety of those around you.
Each person entering the funeral home is required to have a mask
and practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.
