Obituary of Michael Lee Rodriguez
Michael Lee Rodriguez, Sr. age 50, and a native of Austin, TX, unexpectedly transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 4, 2020, from complications related to the Coronavirus.
Michael was born on August 20, 1969, at Brackenridge Hospital to Leeroy and Mary Esther Rodriguez. He was a truck driver for 14 years with UPS and enjoyed doing DIY projects.
Michael is reunited with his grandparents, Carlos and Julia Rodriguez, Fred and Pauline Andrada, and Father-In-Law, Louis G. Fabian.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Jennette Alma Rodriguez; son Michael Lee Rodriguez, Jr., partner Mitzi DeJulian, grandsons, Michael Lee (Mickey) Rodriguez III, Mateo Lane Rodriguez, an expected granddaughter, Marisela Rodriguez; daughter, Julia Alyssa Rodriguez; his parents, Leeroy and Mary Esther Rodriguez of Austin, TX; sister, Elaine Vidas, husband, Mark, of Burnet, TX; Mother-In-Law, Hermelinda (Melin) Fabian, Brothers-In-Law, Joe Louis Fabian, Lawrence Fabian, wife, Rebecca, Sisters-In-Law, Annette Veronica Saldivar, husband, Virgil Sr., all of Austin, TX; Mary Fabian, husband, Joe Angel Perez, of Manor, TX; seven nephews, four nieces, two great-nephews, nine great-nieces, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the doctors and nurses at Ascension Seton on 38th St. who gave great care to Michael during his illness.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Mission Funeral Home-East, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 also at the funeral home. Services for Michael will conclude following the Celebration of Life.
Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 the family has requested that visitation be limited to the immediate family ONLY.
(No children allowed). A live stream of events will be available for extended family and friends.
Please remember to exercise social distancing as often as possible for your safety and the safety of those around you.
Each person entering the funeral home is required to have a mask
and practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.
