Obituary of John Luna, Sr.

Our beloved John Luna, Sr., age 60, was called to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Luna and Mary Zamarripa Luna; his granddaughter, Annalouisa Luna, his sisters, Tommie Oregon and Margaret Cadena, and his brother-in-law, Ignacio Gonzalez.

John is survived by his children, John Luna, Jr. and his wife, Dolores Rodriguez, Veronica Michele Luna and her husband, Marvin Jackson, and Marissa Denise Luna; his grandchildren, Gabriela Rose Luna, Amir Marvelous Jackson, Anayah Beard, and Oliver Ledesma; his siblings, Yolanda Vallejo and her husband, Santiago, Gloria Gonzalez, Alfred Luna, Jr. and his wife, Elva, Corine Rocha and her husband, Ruben, Cecilia Rodriguez and her husband, Manuel Barcenas, and Teresa Luna; his brother-in-law, Jesse Oregon, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

A Graveside Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Feeder Rd., Austin, Texas.

The Celebration of Life will be live-streamed to allow participation by those unable to attend through Facebook Live Mission - South Side.  

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
