Obituary of Robert Martinez Rendon
Our beloved Robert Martinez "Bear" Rendon, age 65, was called to our Heavenly Father on Friday, June 12, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Rendon, Sr. and Concepcion Martinez Rendon and his sister, Rachel Rendon Pesina.
Robert Martinez Rendon was born on March 12, 1955, a twin brother of Rudy Rendon to the parents of Concepcion Martinez Rendon and Edward Rendon Sr. from East Austin. He attended Albert Sidney Johnston High School in East Austin. Mr. Robert Martinez Rendon served in the the U.S. Marines in 1973 a proud veteran he was. Robert was a masonary brick layer for his father’s company, Edward Rendon Construction Inc. Robert was a CDL Truck Driver like his twin brother Rudy Rendon and he worked for many companies including Centex Concrete in South Austin. His nickname was Brown Bear and he was an exceptional softball player like all of his brothers. Robert played ball at Krieg Field on Pleasant Valley on several teams including the Jokers. We love and miss him.
Robert is survived by his siblings, twin Rudy Rendon and his wife, Roseann, Sr., Richard Rendon, Sr. and his wife, Mary, Rose Rendon Rubio and her husband, Robert, Roy Rendon, Sr. and his wife, Mary, Rebecca Rendon and her husband, Andres Ballesteros, Elisa Rendon Montoya and her husband, Reuben, and Edward Rendon, Jr. and his wife, Yolanda, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
In leiu of gifts and deliveries sent to the family homes, please send flowers directly to Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Robert's brothers, Rudy Rendon, Sr., Richard Rendon, Sr., Roy Redon, Sr., and Edward Rendon, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert's best friend, Rick Luna, Sr.
A Graveside Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 IH 35 S. Feeder Rd., Austin, Texas. We will depart at approximately 10:30 a.m. from Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.
Due to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.
Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask
and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more. If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,
it is recommended that you not attend services.
