Obituary of Margaret V. Rodriguez
Our beloved Margaret Villanueva Rodriguez, age 79, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, June 4, 2020. She is reunited with her husband, Cecilio Rodriguez; her son, Cecilio Rodriguez, Jr.; her grandson, Avery Bailey Rodriguez; her great-granddaughter, Princess Nicole Duron; her parents, Leon and Amelia Casas Villanueva; her brother, Arturo Villanueva; and the father of her children, Cayetano Gloria.
Margaret leaves behind her children, Virginia Ybarra, Diana Rodriguez, JoAnn B. Rodriguez, John Albert Rodriguez, Michael Anthony Gloria, and his wife, Blanca, and Greg Gloria; her step-children, Jerry Gloria, Linda Gloria, Sandra Gloria, James Gloria, Patty Gloria, and Jeffrey Gloria; more than 13 grandchildren, and more than 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Filogonia Aleman, Gloria V. Gonzales, Manuel Villanueva, Pam Morgan, Joe Villanueva, Estella Ruiz, Minerva Hernandez, Elizabeth Villanueva and Paul "Ponky" Villanueva; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and many friends.
Margaret dedicated 30 years in service to Austin Independent School District as a bus driver; she loved her job so much that after retiring, she returned to her beloved bus to serve another two years before going back to her life in retirement.
Margaret's family calls Greg Gloria, Michael Gloria, Mark Ybarra, Alex Ybarra, Peter Duron, Paul Duron, Justin Rodriguez, and Santiago Vasquez to serve as Honored Pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning, Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 East Ninth Street, Austin, Texas.
Interment at Assumption Cemetery will follow.
Due to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
Visitation, Mass, and Burial are limited in capacity.
The funeral home chapel has restricted occupancy to 50% of its maximum; about 60 persons.
The Church has restricted occupancy to 50% of its maximum; about 150 persons.
Assumption Cemetery has restricted attendance to Graveside Services to 60 persons.
The lowering of the casket and closing of the grave will only be conducted with all attendees safely in their vehicles.
Please remember to exercise social distancing as often as possible for your safety and the safety of those around you.
Each person entering the funeral home, church and cemetery will be required to have a mask
and use it when unable to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.
