Obituary of Tom Harros, Jr.
Our beloved Father Tomas Harros Jr., was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at the age of 71 after a hard fought battle against cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents Tomas Haros Sr. and Juanita Trevino-Haros; Brothers, Julian Harros, Joe Haros, Johnny Haros, his twin babies, and his ferocious dog, Max.
Tom was a devoted father and adoring husband. He was a jack of all trades, who could find the humor in tough situations. He was most proud of his children, his wife Mary and his rebuilt ’64 Chevy, Louisie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Louise Samilpa-Harros; his brother Jesse Haros; Sisters, Ruth Gomez, Cruz Gomez Rosa Ornelas, Christina Ornelas; Daughters, Angie, Tina, Marcie (Tony), Sophia (Everett), Angel (Martin), Ruth, Maria (Henry); Sons, Tomas III (Krissy), Anastacio (April), Gabriel (Ana), John (Bobbie), Christopher (Vanessa). He was blessed with 21 Grandkids and 16 great grandkids.
Recitation of Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. Rosary will be live streamed so those who are not able to attend may participate from their home.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave., Austin, Texas. Burial will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, Texas.
Due to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
Visitation, Mass, and Burial are limited in capacity.
Visitation is limited to 60 people, Mass is limited to 100, and Burial is limited to 30.
Mass at San Jose requires arrival 30 minutes prior to start of Mass. Each person
entering will be required to have mask and gloves. In addition a brief pre-screening
will be given prior to entering the church.
If you will be attending, masks are required at funeral home also.
The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support
during this very difficult time.
