Obituary of Leo Orona, Jr.

Our beloved Leo Salazar Orona, Jr., age 63, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 7, 2020.  He passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonardo and Losaria Orona and his sisters, Josie Orona and Carol Orona.

Leo is survived by his wife of 17 years, Norma Orona; his brother, Lupe Orona; his sisters, Adela Gonzales and her husband, Pete, and Vicky Perez.  Leo is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other family, and many friends.

The family of would like to offer a special note of appreciation to Heart to Heart Hospice, Promiseland Church on 51st, and the doctors and nurses of St. David's North Austin Hospital for care, compassion, and unwavering support to Mr. Orona and his family.  In addition, special thanks to Curtis Montgomery, owner of Bob's Barber Shop, Metro Access, Gracy Woods on Metric Ave., funeral service volunteers and ministers, Danny and Julia Lopez.  May God bless each of you.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  A Graveside Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
