Obituary of Angelita Lopez Orta
On Monday, March 2nd, 2020, as the church bells rang, our beloved Angelita L. Orta transitioned into her eternal life.
Angelita (Angie) Orta was born on October 1st, 1934 in Hutto, TX to Mauricio & Guadalupe Lopez.
She is reunited in death with her parents and loving Husband of over 55 years, Lucas F. Orta.
She is also reunited with her infant siblings; Maria, Margarito, & Lucia Lopez; Brother, Benito (Beno) & his wife Betty Lopez, Brother-in-law Joe Faz Sr., Sister-in-law, Annie Lopez; and Granddaughter Monica R. Gomez.
She leaves behind her children; Adam Orta, Lucia Orta, Reynaldo Orta, Marie Gutierrez (John), Gloria A. Suarez, and Angelica Orta Duran (Robert R.), Grandchildren; Joseph (J.J.), Chris, Consuelo, Guillermo, Eloy & Victor Rey Orta, Rudolfo (Rudy) & Mari Gomez, Isis & Joel Suarez, and Lucas Tapia, 17 Great-Grandchildren (+1 on the way), and 2 Great-great Grandchildren; Her sister Mary Faz, and her brother Robert Lopez; numerous nieces, nephews, and several bonus children & grandchildren, and several special cousins and family members. We cannot forget to mention her daily companions and fur babies, Bevo & Guerita.
Angelita, known to her family and friends as Angie, Lilly, and Tia Lile; was fun, loving and (right along with her sister) the life of the party. She enjoyed kicking her shoes off and dancing away; you could not out twist her! She loved to gamble and almost daily played BINGO. Angie and Lucas were inseparable and spontaneous; there was a point when they would travel to Las Vegas about three times a year. She made a living working several jobs and then running L&O Tireshop with Lucas, but her trade and true passion was being a seamstress. Family was everything to her; she loved and cared for everyone she knew. Her door was always open and the coffee was always on. She was tiny, but she was filled with so much wisdom, strength, and a sense of humor to keep us all going. We will all miss her greatly, but are comforted in knowing she is reunited with her love, Lucas, to continue their journey together.
Our family would like to extend our gratitude to all our family and friends whom have always helped and supported us with Mom; especially to Lydia "Lilly" Ybarra. Also, Thank You to the staff with New Century Hospice: Kimberly, Jon, Kenny, and Erica.
