Obituary of Joe Escobar Silvas
Our beloved Joe Escobar Silvas, age 91, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. He is reunited with his wife, Janie Lopez Silvas; his children, Joe Silvas, Jr., Judy Silvas, and Jerry Silvas; his son-in-law, Jesus Estala; his grandson, Jonathon Mendosa; his parents, Francisco Silvas and Susana Escobar Silvas; his siblings, Charlotte Vasquez, Ralph Silvas, Santos Silvas, and Antonio Perez.
Joe is survived by his daughters, Jean Tovar, and her husband, Bernardino, and Janet Estala; his daughter in law, Angela Silvas; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning, Monday, February 24, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery, Austin, Texas. \
Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
