Our beloved Jose ?Joe? Vallejo, Sr., age 74, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday November 21, 1999 to his eternal home. Our Lord knew he was suffering. He surrounded him with love, caring family and friends, as he departed this world to go to a place free of pain and sorrow. Mr. Vallejo was a true patriot and served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Army, recipient of 3 Bronze stars for his valor and courage. He was also awarded medals and citations for his combat infantry service. Survivors include: Beloved wife of 55 years; Irene T. Vallejo, of Austin, Brothers; Carlos Vallejo and Francisco Vallejo, both of Austin. Sons; Joe Vallejo, Jr., Steve Vallejo and David Vallejo, all of Austin, Daughters; Mary Tejeda of Arkansas, Tina Vallejo of Austin, Antonia Mireles, of Lockhart, Alice Vallejo of Austin and Diana Miller of Pflugerville. Mr. Vallejo was preceeded in death by his parents, two brothers and by his son Daniel Vallejo. The family wishes to acknowledge their gratitude toward to Capitol Hospice of Austin for the loving care given to thier father during his illness. Visitation will commence after 10am for family and friends. Recitation of rosary Tuesday 7:30pm, at the San Francisco Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00am at San Francisco Catholic Church. Rev. John O?Keife will officiate. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Cemetery in Mendoza Texas.
