Obituary of Miguel Z. Herrera

Our beloved Miguel Z. Herrera “Mike”, age 88, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.

Mr. Herrera proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1952.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Murillo Herrera and Trinidad Zavala Herrera; sisters, Juanita Rodriguez and Maria Segura; brother, Angel Herrera; and son-in-law, Richard G. Luna.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Oralia Estrada Herrera; children: Esmeralda Herrera Luna (Saul Diaz), Miguel E. Herrera, Jr. (Roberta), Herminia Herrera Rivera (Ricky), David E. Herrera, Alex E. Herrera (Victoria), Andrew E. Herrera, Gabino E. Herrera (Deanna Vega), and Stella Herrera Williams; sister, Victoria Gonzales; brother, Joe Herrera; 20 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren and numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home – South Side. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Dolores Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery with United States Army Honors.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Luna Jr., Albert Luna, Daniel Luna, Jeffrey Herrera, David Herrera Jr., John Paul Herrera, Michael Eric Herrera,  and Armando Nicanor Herrera.
