Obituary of Joanne Menchaca

Our beloved Joanne Menchaca, age 45, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 19, 2020.  Joanne tragically lost her life with her longtime partner, Jose Luis Velazquez.

Joanne is survived by her children, Anthony Ramon, Adam Michael Ramon, Adrian Ramon, and Andrew Ramon; her parents, Abel Menchaca, Sr. and Yolanda Hernandez and her husband, Alfredo Alvarado; her grandchildren, Santiago Isidro Ramon, Adelyn Ivy Ramon, Adam Michael Ramon, Jr., and Arielle Lisette Ramon; her brothers, Robert Hernandez, Abel Menchaca and his wife, Carolina, and Daniel Christopher Rodriguez, and many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, corner of Robert T. Martinez and 2nd St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow Mass at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, Texas.

When I come to the end of my journey

Forget that I ever had a heartache and remember

I've had loads of fun. Forget that I have stumbled and blundered

and sometimes fell by the way. Remember I have fought some hard battles and won,

ere the close of the day, then forget to grieve for my going, 

I would not have you sad for a day,

But in summer just gather some flowers

and remember the place where I lay,

And come in the evening when the sun paints the sky in the west

Stand for a few moments beside me and remember only my best.
