On July 21, 2002 our beloved mother Guadalupe Galvan Almanza, at the age of 84, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior.She was preceded in death by her husband, Alberto Almanza Sr., son, Ezekiel Almanza, granddaughter Barbara Ann Almanza De La Cruz, parents, Ignacio Sr. and Soledad Galvan. Survivors include: daughters, Martha G. Almanza and Rachel A. Resendez. Sons, Samuel Almanza, Alberto Almanza Jr., and Wife Donna, Noel Almanza. Sister, Angelina Heatly, brother, Ignacio Galvan Jr., Benjamin Galvan, Robert Galvan. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks, to Dr. Peggy M. Russell and Stonebridge Health Center Nurses and Staff for their excellent loving care of our mother. Prayer services were held on Tuesday July 23, 2002, 7:30 P.M. at the Mission Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service was Wednesday July 24, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church 200 Brushy Street. Rev. Michael Dobbs Officiating. Interment followed in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Tomas A. Resendez III, Albert Thomas Almanza III, Ezekiel Don Almanza, Joel Almanza, Joe Aguilar, Frank Maldonado. Honorary pallbearers were Jesse Ray Galabeas (great-great-grandson).
