I remember as a young girl, Joey would walk over to my grandparents house, his uncle Reyes “Ray” Olvera and his aunt Cleo. Joey would start signing to us that his cousin Terri Olvera Gonzalez, (my mom) was burnt, he would strike his arm, like striking match.
Meaning that she was the “dark skinned one” of the family. It would make us laugh and he would get such a kick out of it! My mom still has the door mat that Joey made for her. We had good times! He will be missed! My condolences to the Olvera family
