Obituary of Pedro "Pete" Monreal, Jr.

Our Beloved Pedro Santana Monreal, Jr. “Pete”, age 70, of Austin, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary Monreal; his parents, Pedro Monreal, Sr. and Elvira Santana Monreal; brother, Richard Monreal; son, Pete Monreal, III; grandson, David Castro; and brother-in-law, Frank Saldaña.

He is survived by his loving children: Joe B. Castro Jr., Victoria Monreal, Toby Monreal, Marcos Monreal, and Yolanda Monreal; son-in-law Jon Huerta; sisters: Rose (Julian) Cantu, Helen Saldaña, and Laura Espinoza; 23 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Mission Funeral Home – South Side located at 6204 South First Street; Austin, Texas 78745. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
