Obituary of Maria Arenas Zapata
Our beloved Maria Arenas Zapata, age 84, resident of Austin, was born into eternal life on Saturday, September 21, 2019. She was reunited with her husband, Guillermo Zapata; her parents, Baldomedo Arenas and Mercedes Canales Arenas; and her five siblings.
Maria leaves behind her children, Runaldo Zapata, and his wife, Mary Sue, and Hortencia Lara; her grandchildren, Mercie Zapata, Ronnie Zapata, Henry Lara, and his wife, Gena, Frank Lara, and his wife, Mary, Rebecca Lara, and her husband, Charlie, and Robert Lara; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., the following morning, Thursday, September 26, 2019, at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery Street. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
