Obituary of Virginia V. Castillo

Our beloved Virginia V. Castillo, age 68, resident of Georgetown and Austin, was born into eternal life in the wee hours of Thursday, September 19, 2019.  She was reunited with her grandson, Angel Guadalupe Garcia; her parents, Valentine Valdez and Juanita Lopez Valdez; her sister, Delia Davila; and her brothers, Benny Valdez, Arturo Valdez, and Rudolfo Rodriguez. 

Virginia leaves behind her husband of 25 years, Joe S. Castillo, Jr.; her children, Shirley Garcia Paniagua, and her fiance, Bradford Boyd, Brian Ibanez; her stepdaughters, Patricia Ibarra, and Yvonne Ortiz; her grandchildren, Jorel Garcia, Thomas G. Garcia, and his wife, Ashlie, Steven Ray Garcia, and his wife, Giovanna, Nicholas Ibanez, Ashlynn Ibanez, and Briley Ibanez; five step-grandchildren, and five great-grandsons; her sister, Rosita "Chita" V. Villanueva, and her husband, Manuel; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 26, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. 

Funeral Mass will be held the following morning, Friday, September 27, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 East Second Street, Austin, Texas. 

Services for Virginia will conclude at the close of Mass on Friday morning. 

Virginia's family invites all her friends and extended family to join in continued fellowship over a meal following mass. The family will share this meal at St. Julia Catholic Church Family Hall at 12:00 p.m., 900 Tillery Street, Austin, Texas.
