My wife, Lora, and I want to send our condolences and prayers to the Sampson family. We are members of East Liberty Presbyterian Church and worked with Jane when she and Bob were in Pittsburgh. We grieve her passing, but celebrate her life. We are grateful to have known her and worked with her at the church.

To the Sampson family,
I am grateful that I did see Mrs. Sampson when she and her family were at East Liberty Presbyterian Church to deliver Mr. Sampson's ashes. I am not sure of the exact date but I think it was in 2016 or 2017. She was as cordial as ever and I was so glad to see her.
I will never forget "the Sampson's" ardent commitment to social justice that they tirelessly worked to provide to the people on the margins enduring homelessness, hunger, and lack of everyday necessities. My dear friend and "second" mother, Joyce Durden served on the Community MIssion board in which Bob was the moderator and a very effective and easy-going leader.
When Jane and Bob relocated to Texas to be closer to their children, ELPC lost two great pioneers who lived into their faith. They showed me great examples of how to be the Christian we profess.
Although I know that Virginia and the rest of the children and grandchildren have endured the sadness that comes with observing our parents succumb to illnesses that accompany aging, know that you were very fortunate to have such parents even as the afflictions of aging assaulted them. Even so, we hate and are always saddened to lose our anchors.
Please know that the legacies of Jane and Bob are etched into ELPC's history and my heart. May Mrs. Jane Sampson rest in peace in God's light.

To the Sampson Family,
My condolences on the passing of your mother, Jane. I have fond memories of our times together at ELPC. Jane was a very courageous example of a loving. sharing, Christian woman. She'll continue to live in my heart.
God's blessings to all of you.
