Obituary of Israel Benavides

Our Beloved Israel Benavides, age 50, of Del Valle, Texas, was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 6, 2019.

Israel retired after 17 years of service with the City of Austin as Superintendent with the Watershed Protection Department.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel G. Benavides.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Monica De Leon Benavides; his mother, Ines Orta Benavides; children: Ashley Benavides (Leo Paniagua), Israel Benavides, Jr. (Amanda) Brittany Benavides, Sierra Benavides, Israel Jacob Benavides, Jonathan Benavides, Nick Arevalo, and Jenice Benavides; siblings: Yolanda Benavides, Linda Matamoros, Irene Murillo, Carmen Waznik, Rita Korniko, Janie Ruiz, Richard Benavides, Manuel Benavides Jr., Jesse Benavides, Joe Benavides, and Gerald, Benavides; 14 grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. This will conclude services.
