i knew her only for a year at a club Red Hat in ajijic. she was so lively and funny. i was wearing the blue necklace she gave me when i read this. she must have been saying good by. good by marguerite and raise plenty of laughs. we were the only ones who would tell queen kathy that she was legally wrong. she ignore us anyway.

So difficult to put into words the loss of not having Marguerite here to call, to laugh, to cry with.
Our friendship was so important to me. She truly cared for me and my issues as I cared for her.
During her last days I was fighting my own battle having a heart attack and then open heart surgery.
We always said we would let the other one know when either of us were passing. The night she passed I had already had my surgery and was in the hospital when my newly repared heart went crazy. I found out later that was exactly when she crossed over.
She and I agreed whoever went first she would manifest in shape of white peacock and I would be a butterfly. A few days after her passing a white peacock appeared on my Facebook page. Guess that was her message to me. At least I like to think so.
Sympathy to Jack, and the whole family. I am so glad she got to know her beautiful new granddaughter.
Thank you Marguerite for being in my life.

So sorry we won't be here in Austin to help celebrate Marguerite's life. In the brief time that I knew her I found her to be compassionate and kind. Godspeed.

She touched SO many lives with warmth, concern, care, love, and intelligence. May we all take in some of her special soul and spirit as we move ahead in our own journeys. I will always remember and celebrate you Marguerite. Love, Lisa

With tears swimming in my eyes, I acknowledge all that dear Marguerite brought to life; to her family, especially to her husband and daughter, for whom she clung to life; to her friends, especially to Carol Powell, who introduced us in Ajijic; to the music, for which which she relished playing and listening; to her UU church, to which she was devoted; and to her voracious appetite to freely give of herself to everyone she possibly could, including to lucky me.
She imprinted on all these people and things with a startlingly brisk and honest laugh and with her ever tap-dancing eyes. I’m fortunate to have had the privilege of seeing all this in action. I have a hard time imagining a planet without her.

Marguerite was a dear friend I met at University of Texas so many years ago. Young at heart, generous, sweet natured and adventuresome. We were part of a talented artistic circle of interesting and slightly counterculture young people. Our Lives eventually diverged in two different paths as but we reconnected in the last decade and I visited Marguerite twice in Ajijic. I will treasure those rich, full, fun-filled memories. Who would know she would leave this Earth so soon? Her memory and spirit will always be with those of us who knew her.
