Obituary of Carlos Hernandez

Beloved Austin singer and songwriter, Carlos "55 Santana" Hernandez, age 63, went to his rest on Friday, May 3, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tereso and Gloria Hernandez; and his siblings, Gloria Paez, Teresa Ann Hernandez, and David Hernandez.

He is survived by his children, Laura Rodriguez, and her husband, David, Candis Hernandez, and Carlos "Carlitos" Hernandez, Jr.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his siblings, Amparo Alvizo, and her husband, Luis, Yolanda Esparza, Bo Hernandez, and his wife, Linda, Manuel Hernandez, and his wife, Christine, Terry Castillo, and her husband Mike, Velia Sustaita, and her husband, Danny, and Angie Hernandez; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many adoring friends. 

The Hernandez Family calls the following persons to the position of Honored Pallbearer: Manuel Hernandez, Bo Hernandez, Manuel Soza, John Alba, Jay Carbullido, Elizejah Brown, Gloria "Chapa" Chapa, and David Hernandez, Jr. 

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be the following morning, Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery Street, Austin, Texas. 

Services for Mr. Hernandez will conclude at the close of Mass.
