Obituary of Francisca Balandran Palacios

Our beloved Francisca Balandran Palacios, age 101 years, and a long-time resident of East Austin was born into eternal life in the early morning of Tuesday, April 16, 2019. She was reunited in the Kingdom with her husband, Felipe Gonzales Palacios; her son, Felipe Palacios, Jr.; her parents, Prospero A. Balandran, and Maria Inez Alvarez Balandran; her son-in-law, George Soto, Sr.; her brother, Enes Balandran; her sisters and their spouses, Victoria Balandra, Margarita Navarro, and her husband, Catarino, Refugia Mendez, and her husband, Feliciano, and Fermina Coy, and her husband, Manuel; and her dog, Chico, who provided her with 17 beautiful years of companionship. 

Francisca is survived by her children, Lily Palacios, Sylvia Willhite, and her husband, Bruce, and Maryfrances Soto, and her husband, Mike Nunez; her daughter-in-law, Mary Palacios; her grandchildren, Mario Godoy, Jr., Felipe Palacios III, Pedro Palacios, Belinda Aguilar, Vanessa Godoy, David Godoy, Geoffrey Mier, Gregory Soto, Craig Soto, Sr., George Soto, Jr., and Adela P. Soto; great-grandchildren, Jacob Palacios, Adriana Torres, Chelsea Palacios, Denise Aguilar, Garbiela Aguilar, Andres Palacios, Esperanza Palacios, Emilio Palacios, Ariana Torres, Juandiego Godoy, Sofia Godoy, Tatiana Soto, Marissa Palacios, and Craig Soto, Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Kira Rodriguez-Aguilar and Kora Ruiz-Aguilar; her sister, Jesusa Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. 

The Palacios Family wishes to recognize in gratitude the following persons and organizations, for their dedication and loving care of Francisca: Hospice Austin, Grisela Salinas, Dr. Vishal Malpani, Dr. Leigh Fredholm, Maryfrances Soto, Mary Palacios, Mike Nunez, and Jessica Soto. 

Francisca's family calls to the position of Honored Pallbearers: Mario Godoy, Jr., Felipe Palacios III, Pedro Palacios, David Godoy, Geoffrey Mier, Gregory Soto, Craig Soto, Sr., and George Soto, Jr.; and to the position of Honorary Pallbearer, Mike Nunez. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be the following morning, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 East Second Street. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
