Obituary of Gilbert Lafuente Acosta

Our beloved Gilbert Lafuente Acosta, aged 66, a resident of East Austin and of Georgetown, was born into Eternal Life early in the morning of March 27, 2019. He was reunited with his daughters, Connie, and Geneva Sue Acosta; and his parents, Nicholas and Guadalupe Lafuente Acosta. 

He leaves behind his loving wife of 18 years, Merced Castilleja Acosta; his children, Gracie Rosales, and her husband, Chris, Joey Castillo, and his wife, Veronica, Gilbert Alvarez, Bianca Paige, and her husband, Randall, Elizabeth Acosta, Joel Gonzales, Sierra Gonzales, Sieanna Gonzales, and Bonnie Acosta; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Acosta, and his wife, Mary Lou, Nick Acosta, and Andrew Acosta, and his wife, Debbie; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at 5:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. Funeral Liturgy will be held on the following morning, Monday, April 1, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., also at Mission Funeral Home - East Side. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
