Obituary of Carrie B. Hernandez

Our beloved Carrie B. Hernandez, age 95 and a resident of East Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, March 7, 2019. She was welcomed into the Kingdom by her loving husband of nearly 80 years, Jesse G. Hernandez; her children, Mary Helen Elliott, and Jesse G. Hernandez, Jr.; her parents, Fermin Benavidez and Jesusa Landeros Benavidez; her grandchildren, Jesse G. Herandez III and Bradley Elliott; her great-grandson, Justin Nothem; all 15 of her siblings; and her daughter-in-law, Mary P. Hernandez. 

Carrie is survived by her loving children, Frances Hernandez Johnson, and her husband, Willie Troy Johnson, Margaret L. Warren, and her husband, Dr. Richard A Warren, Carrie H. Perez, and her husband, Joe E. Perez, Marshall Hernandez, Edward Hernandez, Dorrie Hernandez, and Fermin Hernandez, and his wife, Jolly A. Hernandez; 26 grandchildren, more than 25 great-grandchildren, and over 9 great-great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Zoretta Hernandez; her son-in-law, Robert Barry Elliott; her sister-in-law, Eva Benavidez; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. 

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas; the chapel will close at 9:00 p.m. that evening. A Celebration of Life will be held the following evening, Sunday, March 10, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Baptist Temple Church, 1804 Canterbury Street, Austin, Texas. Funeral Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday morning, March 11, 2019, once again at Mission Funeral Home; the chapel will open at 8:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
