Our beloved Simon L. Ybarra age 101 a resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday January 21, 2002.Mr. Ybarra was born in Hays County on January 4, 1901, being a Farmer for many years before retiring and being the maintenance and caretaker of Dolores Catholic Church for many years. A lifetime and active member of Dolores Catholic Church, he was a member of the Sacred Heart Society. Mr. Ybarra was preceded in death by his beloved wife Maria C. Ybarra, parents Vicente and Ignacia Ybarra, a Son Jesse Ybarra, a Daughters Magdalena Y. Torres and Trinidad Ybarra, Brothers Manuel Ybarra and Antonio Ybarra and Sisters Beatrice Tello and Petra Colunga, and a Grandson Merced Torres, Jr..
Survivors include: Son Jose ?Joe? C. Ybarra and wife Modesta, Daughter-in-Law; Lillie Ybarra, Son-in-Law; Merced Torres, Sr., all of Austin, also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 32 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Recitation of rosary Thursday 7:00pm at the Dolores Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday 10:00am at Dolores Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. John Korscmar will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Steven Carrizales, Diego Herrera, Belen Segura, Joann Ybarra, Adan Torres and Simon Torres.
Honorary pallbearers will be his Great-Grandchildren.
