Obituary of John Merino Flores
Our Beloved John Merino Flores, age 70, of Austin, Texas, was called by our Heavenly Father on January 27, 2019.
He is preceded in death by his parents Geronimo Flores and Rachel Lara; siblings, Gilbert Flores and Arturo Flores.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Beatrice Flores; children, Teresa Schoenfeld (Greg), John P. Flores, and Erica Flores; grandchildren, Lauren Schoenfeld, Ashley Schoenfeld, and Alyssa Schoenfeld. John is also survived by his siblings, Jerry Flores, Mary Ramirez, Robert Flores, Leonard Flores, John Lara, and his beloved dog, Peanut.
John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received numerous medals and awards including the Purple Heart medal.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2019 with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E 9th St, Austin, TX 78702. Interment will follow at Onion Creek Memorial Park.
