Obituary of Elias C. Castro
Our beloved Elias Calvo Castro, 81, also known as "Mr. Lee" by the Men's Fast Pitch Softball Community was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, November 26, 2018.
Lee was preceded in death by parents Alejandro and Mercedes C. Castro and brothers Pedro, Francisco, David and Alejandro Castro Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Beatrice Castro, children Roselinda Sanchez and husband George, Elias Castro, Jr. and wife Lori, grandchildren Joseph Amaro, Stephan Castro, Audrey Castro and fiancé Zach Beshea, Sean Amaro and wife Damaris Chavez, and great granddaughters Aliyah and Adalynn Amaro, sister Oralia Molina and brothers Daniel and Eduardo "Brown" Castro as well as many loving nephews, nieces and cousins.
Mr. Castro founded Castro Concrete in 1972 and has since passed the business on to his son. He and Beatrice proudly sponsored the Austin Jokers Men's Fastpitch softball team beginning in 1961 and continued to be active supporters of men's fastpitch to the time of his passing. He has been recognized for his constant support of the sport by being inducted into the Latin American Fastpitch Hall of Fame located in Houston, Texas and by the Austin Historical Society.
Our family would like to send our most heartfelt thanks to Dr. Andrew Alpar, Jason, Trish and Lea of True Heart Hospice for their support and genuinely caring nature during our time of need. We would also like to recognize the wonderful care given to Mr. Castro by St. David's Medical Center South Austin.
Pallbearers will be Stephan Castro, Sean Amaro, Zach Beshea, Robert Rangel, Herman Molina, Edward "Sheddy Boy" Martinez. Honorary pallbearers: John Limon and Ricky Berg.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm - 9:00pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm on Sunday December 2, 2018 at Mission Funeral Home South located at 6204 South First Street, Austin Texas, 78745. Scripture Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Mission Funeral Home South. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
