Our Beloved Anita G. Salinas, age 96, of Austin, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years Santos G. Salinas Sr. Anita and Santos are reunited in Heaven and having a glorious time dancing and sharing a root beer without the "root". She was also preceded in death by her parents Alberto Garcia and Juanita Gonzalez Garcia; son Santos Salinas Jr.; granddaughter Rachel Guerra and great grandson Rueben Guerra; son-in-law Lupe Cruz, Sr. and 7 brothers.

 

She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver Mary Rose Cavazos and her husband Rick; son Robert Salinas; daughters Janie Cruz and Shirley Salinas, daughter-in-law Angelina Salinas; her cherished sister Dora Jasso; sisters Maria Pena, Nelda Pena, Martha Hernandez, and Eva Zitz-Evancih; brothers Nick Garcia, Israel Garcia, and Jesse Garcia; grandchildren: Amy, Ricky, Daniel, Ruby, Jeanette, Laura, Santos III, Carolyn, Lupe Jr., Virgie, Michael, John, Melanie, Rachel, Ruby, Steve, Paul and Sheila; 35 great grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.

 

Anita was a very loving, kind, strong and generous mother and grandmother. She was an outdoor person who loved to garden and was even known to catch a fish or two, to fry up for dinner. She enjoyed life to the fullest and will be especially missed by the entire Cavazos family. Until we meet again...you will always have a special place in our hearts.

 

Pallbearers will be Rick Cavazos, Daniel Cavazos, Ricky Cavazos, Gabe Cavazos, Tor Cavazos, Belle Cavazos, Lupito Cruz, and Robert Salinas.Honorary Pallbearers will be Amy & Albert Montalvo, Lela & Gael Montalvo, Ruby & Pierre Cloutier, Mila & Jude Cloutier, Sarah Cavazos, and Laura Barnett-Cavazos.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service  beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Mission Funeral Home – South Chapel located at 6204 South First Street; Austin, Texas 78745. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Mission Funeral Home – South Chapel. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Anita's brother, Pastor Jesse Garcia will officiate the services.

 

A special thank you to Oralia, Benny, Pat, Eva and Jesse for your prayers, love and continual visits and calls.
