Obituary of Ofelia Castro

Our beloved Ofelia Castro, age 72, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 26, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe O. Rodriguez; her parents, Pedro Castro and Emilia Garcia Castro; her brother, Guadalupe “Lupe” Castro, and her sister, Mary Alice Tello.

Ofelia is survived by her adoring daughters, Jo Ann Rodriguez and her husband, Joe, Josephine Rodriguez, and  Joyce Rodriguez and her wife, Sylvia Aguilar; 16 precious grandchildren, and  39 great grandchildren with four more on the way; her loving siblings, Gonzalo Castro, Pete Castro, Virginia Navarro, Joe Castro, and Daniel Castro; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.  

Ofelia's family calls to the position of honored pallbearers Mark Ortega, Matthew Ortega, Josiah Coronado, Arnold Luna, Jr., Marty Rodriguez, and Joseph Rodriguez; and to the position of honorary pallbearers, Robert Ynez Ortega and Benito Rodriguez. 

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2018 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 South First Street, Austin, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Drive, Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
