Obituary of Manuel Martinez, Jr.

Our beloved Manuel E. Martinez, Jr., age 62, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 21, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Manuel G. Martinez, Sr. and Sallie Espinoza Martinez and his siblings, Mary Medellin and Perry Martinez.

Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Ignacia Martinez; children, Alisha Gonzales and her husband, Alejandro, Laura Martinez and her husband, Brian Jae Yu, Harvey Juarez, Hazel Gomez and her husband, Julian, and Melissa Martinez; his grandchildren, Liliana Gonzales, Alexavier Gonzales, Josiah Gonzales, Camila Juarez, Natalie Gomez, Julian Gomez, Jr., and Abigail Gomez; his brothers and sisters, Tony Martinez and wife, Linda, Sally Martinez, Lucky Urias and husband, Phillip Cruz, and Josephine Rodriguez and husband, Genaro, and numerous nieces, nephews,other loving family and friends.

For many years Manuel was the owner and manager of Manuel's Body Shop on E. 1st St.  Even after he sold his business, his love of paint and body, kept him close to the profession and working as a service advisor. Manuel was proud of the family he and Ignacia built and his children and grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.

Honored Pallbearers will be Paul Martinez, Genaro Rodriguez, Mario Ruiz, Paul Limon, Michael Limon, Andrew Rodriguez, Julian Gomez and Andy Mendez.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2018, with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. Ninth St., Austin, Texas.  The family does request everyone to meet them at the church for Mass on Saturday.  There will be no visitation on Saturday morning prior to Mass.  Services will conclude following Mass.
