Obituary of Felicita Vega

Felicita “Chita” T. Ruiz-Vega entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the age of 86. She was born on November 23, 1931 in Manor, Texas, to Gavino and Petra Tabera. Chita was a devoted wife, adoring mother with unconditional love for her children and her family. She is preceded in death by husband, Manuel M Ruiz Sr.; siblings, Philip Tabera, Tony Robledo, David Robledo, Santos Robledo, Jerry Cruz, Julia Ybarbo, and Esperanza Quiroz. She is survived by her sister Linda Gonzalez, her children, Diana Jimenez, Pat Arrieta, Christine Moreno, Felicia Ruiz (George) and  Manuel Ruiz Jr. and wife Hermalinda, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

At the time of her passing, Felicita was married to Ben Vega; his children, Ray Vega and Gloria Martinez and husband Steve, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give thanks to her caregivers Lee Thomas and Maria Beistline, thank you for all you did for our mom and the family. Thanks also to the staff at New Century Hospice, with special thanks to CNA Stephanie Belores.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018, San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption cemetery.
