Obituary of Mary Martinez

Mary Espinoza Martinez went peacefully to her rest to be with our heavenly father on September 7, 2001 at age of 76 yrs. After a lengthy illness.She was born April 8, 1925 in Creedmoor, Tx., Mary was a life long resident of Austin and was best known for the dances at the Skyline Club and Del?s Hot Tamale. She will be remembered especially for her love of cooking large meals and decorating during the holidays.
Survivors include: Son; Del Don Martinez, and daughters; Mary Esther Martinez and Gloria M. Garcia, Brother; Cayetano Alaniz, Sister; Nora Santos, Ten Grandchildren and Numerous Great-Grandchildren. The Martinez Family would like to thank Hospice of Austin and Carrie Benavides for their care and support of our mother during this difficult time. A very special thank you to Janie Hernandez, who went above and beyond to care for Mary. There are no words to express the depth of our gratitude and appreciation for being an angel on earth to our family. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Father Florencio for his warmth, kindness and support during our mothers struggle?s: He was like a son to her.
Recitation of rosary was recited Sunday September 9th, 2001 at 7:30pm at the Mission Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday September 10th, 2001 at 12:00pm at Mission funeral Home Chapel. Father Florencio Rodriguez will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Barney Espinoza, Jr., Pete Espinoza, Jr., Ricky Espinoza, Robert Espinoza, Reuben Euresti and Chris Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers are Rudy Espinoza, John Anthony Martinez, Blas Santos, Lupe Santos, Johnny Torres, Frank Velasquez and Don Winters.
