Obituary of Joe Herrera Loera

Our Beloved Joe Herrera Loera, age 79, of Austin, Texas, was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Pasadena, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Tommie Coronado Loera; his parents, Jose and Oljeraia Loera; sister, Louisa Loera; brother, Frank Loera; nephew, Benjamin Lombardo, and great great-granddaughter Anastasia Brown.

He is survived by his beloved children JoAnn Dickson, Jessica Gorgo (Mike), and Eric Loera (Amanda); grandchildren, Ariel Botello (Enrique), Rhiannon Gutierrez (Frank), Brittany Dickson (Joshua Tellez), Michael J. Dickinson (Jessica), Emily Dougherty (Benjamin), Kaya Macias (Frank), Kellee Harris (Marcus), Steven Gorgo (Emily), Rachel M. Gorgo, Ian D. Loera, Savannah Loera, and Angela Loera; great grandchildren, Jasmine Gutierrez, Azalea Gutierrez, Violet Gutierrez, Scarlet Botello, Kaleb Botello, Rylie Tellez, Alex Gorgo, Mia Gorgo, Maddison Dougherty, and Dennis Dougherty; siblings, Mike Loera (Lydia), Albert Loera (Lydia), Mary Jaramillo (Pete), Guadalupe Rios, Francesca Dobrozynski (Bruce), and Beatrice Lewellan and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Mission Funeral Home – South Side, 6204 South First Street;  Austin, Texas 78745. Scripture Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Mission Funeral Home – South Side. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
