Obituary of Rosa Vigil Barcenas

Our beloved Rosa Vigil Barcenas, age 44, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday,March 17, 2018. 

She joins in death her father, Jose Vigil; her paternal grandparents, Fernando and Concha Vigil; her maternal grandmother, Maria Soliz; her beloved nephew Adrian Diaz; uncles Johnny and Joe Soliz; and her stepfather, Pops Casarez.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 17 years, Jose Barcenas, Sr.; her son, Jose Barcenas, Jr., age 2 years; her mother Rosa Casarez; three borhters, Jose Vigil and wife Velia, Domingo Velasquez and wife Lisa, Christopher Velasquez and wife Tencia; her two sisters, Ernestina Diaz and Concepcion Vigil; and her numerous beloved nieces and nephews, other family, and friends. 

She fought a courageous battle with cancer. She lived life to the fullest; there was nothing couldn't do or wouldn't do, especially for her family. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 23, at 5:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the next morning, Saturday, March 24, at 10:00 a.m., at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 East Second Street, Austin, Texas. Committal will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
