Obituary of Bertha "Bertie" Ledesma

Our beloved Bertha “Bertie” Ledesma, age 79, resident of Austin, Texas, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 1, 2018.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Julia Ledesma.

Bertie is survived by her loving children, Robert Morris Benevides (Linda), Tony Arechiga (Mary), George Arechiga (Mary Lou), Terri Arechiga-Elsey (Bill), Sandra Arechiga-Gatica (Jesse), Jessica Arechiga-Galindo (Steve); 25 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 6 great- great grandchildren; siblings Morris Ledesma (Frances), Alice Ledesma, and David Ledesma (Lupe).

Very special thank you to Austin Heart Hospital for all their love and compassion giving to our mother.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Anthony Galindo, Ruben Alvarez Jr., Steven Daniel Galindo, Anthony Hernandez, Jimmy Gonzales III, and Robert Arechiga. Serving as hononary pallbearers will be Robyn Benevides, Monica Duggan, and Christina Cavazos. 

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  Chapel Service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Mission Funeral Home- East Side 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. with Interment will follow at Assumption cemetery.
