Obituary of Christopher Lee Ortega
Christopher Lee Ortega, 46, of Austin, TX has gone Home to be with Jesus on January 26, 2018, at 8:45 am. Born on July 7, 1971 to father Robert Ortega and mother Mary Nila Daniels, He was the oldest of 4 brothers. He is survived by wife Patricia Ortega, 3 kids; Marie, Stephanie, and Sylvester, son-in-law Santana, and grandsons; Khaleb, Kaiden, Aidyn and Jayden, his father Robert Ortega, and step mother Juanita, his mother Mary Daniels and step father Gary, his brothers Joe (Lydia, Shannon, Ashley, Adriana, Jordan), Robert (Kelly, Nick, Andrew, Brianna), and Grant, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Chris worked for the Texas Comptroller’s Office for 16 years. He met Patricia later in life but it was all in God’s timing. The two became friends and fell in love. On September 23, 2012 Chris and Patricia were married at The Door Christian Fellowship where they are members. Chris enjoyed serving God for the last 7 years alongside his church family. He was a faithful servant. He enjoyed helping with anything media related like putting together videos and slides presentations. It was his area of expertise. He had a passion for God, golf, cruising, NFL football and OU. Boomer Sooners that is. You could find Chris discussing any of these subjects at any given moment. His passion for God was the most remarkable. He was constantly talking about all the wonderful things that Christ had done in his life and the lives of others around him.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life. On Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11am. At our church, The Door Christian Fellowship, 10714 FM1625, Austin, TX 78747. We ask that all attendees wear crimson and cream (red and white) in honor of Chris’ love for OU. Reception immediately following the service.
