Obituary of Olga "Momo" Mendez

Our beloved Olga “Momo” Mendez, age 88, resident of  East Austin, Texas, was called to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Genaro “Juan” Mendez; parents Ernesto Medrano and Aurora Rendon Medrano; her infant son, Lorenzo Vargas and son, Baldomero “Baldo” (Graciela) Vargas; her niece-daughter, Guadalupe "Lupe" Moran; grandson, Adolpho "Fofo 02" Flores; her brothers, Gilberto, Armando, and Sergio Medrano; her sisters, Estella Samaripa,  Delia Medrano, and infant Juanita Medrano.

Olga is survived by her loving children, Minerva “Mine” (Jose “Chavelo”, dec’d) Velez, Maria “Chita” (Juan) Garcia, Aurora (Juan) Zavala, Efrain “Pimpo” (Amparo) Vargas, Olga (Javier) Sanchez, Ernesto Vargas, Antonio “Tony” (Alicia) Ortega; Sylvia Ortega, and Ruby (Hugo) Medrano-Barcenas; siblings, Ernesto, Rosa Fuerte, Raul, Ricardo,  Evangelina “Conga” Medrano, Yolanda Perez, and Norma Rodriguez; 31 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be Sam Castro, Jr., Steve Albert Castro, Juan Zavala, Javier Zavala, Gerardo Velez, Jose "Poli" Velez, Tino Mendez, Tony Ortega III, Ralph Michael Ortega, Rudy Faz, Jr., and Adam Saucedo.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 at Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption cemetery.
