Obituary of Pedro Perez, Sr.

Our beloved Pedro Perez, Sr., age 96, resident of East Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, November 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eva Ochoa Perez; his daughter, Esmeralda L. Serrano; his parents, Victorio and Sapopa Perez; brothers, Greg, Nievas, Louis, and Vique Perez; and his sisters, Christina Hernandez and Sylvia Hernandez.   Pedro proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Army and was a WWII veteran.

Pedro is survived by his son, Pedro Perez, Jr. and his wife, Gloria; his sister-in-law, Dora Wanjura; nine grandchildren, Mandy Perez, Pedro Perez III, Esmeralda Renee Perez, Victor Perez, Virgil Vargas, Elias Vargas, Katherine Serrano Esparza, Pedro Serrano, and Joel Serrano, Jr.; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2017, Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2nd St. and Robert T. Martinez,  Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
