Our beloved Albert Guadalupe “Lupe” Mendoza, Sr., age 69, resident of Austin, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 12, 2017.  Albert passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.  He was not alone but rather, his room and heart was full of the love of his children and grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Janie Mendoza, his parents, Timoteo and Sabina “Lily” Mendoza, his brothers, Jesse, Tim, Joe, Infants Mendoza and his grandparents.

Albert is survived by his loving children, Veronica Tellez and her husband, Ismael; Mary Frances Dominguez and her husband, Arnulfo; Jeannette Ruiz and her husband, Geronimo; Albert Mendoza, Jr. and his wife, Rosanne; his grandchildren, Marissa De La Cruz, Crystal Monsivais-Escobedo, Maria Lopez, Marisela Lopez, Jose de Jesus Lara, John Lara, Trey Ruiz, Victoria Ruiz, Kayla Mendoza, Kimberly Ruiz, Aracely Tellez, April Ruiz, Ismael Tellez, Jr., Maya Ruiz, Jeremiah Ruiz, Andrew Silvestre, David Natal, and Lezayla Natal; 10 great grandchildren; his siblings, Adela Arroyo, Julian Mendoza, Lydia Hoots, and his twin sister, Teresa Rodriguez; his sisters-in-law, Antonia Montoya and Inez Mendoza; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Albert was a man of God, but he still enjoyed the great things that this earth had to offer.  Dad, a man full of love for life, was not ready to go, but we often talked about how God heals us, medically, divine intervention and death.  He understood his time on this world was ending but he fought to stay with us until the last moment. He said, I worry for all my children.  Worry no more, Dear Dad, we are all fine.  We saw you getting tired and more fragile with every word you said; even though it hurt us, it made us stronger and stronger. You taught us to be strong and brave and you Dad showed us to work hard for what we wanted in life. Dad was not a perfect man, but he was a caring and loving man.  He will be missed by all who knew him, his family, children, grandchildren, and friends.

We would like to thank Grandchildren, Yvette, John Paul, Jose and Nubia for being Dad’s 1st caregivers for  all the love and care they showed Dad during the time he lived with them. Marissa, Maria and Marisela for being there as much as you could to help us with daddy. Ms. Emma for loving dad so much and helping him during the next phase of his illness and Ms. Rosy for caring for dad the last 2 months of his life.  To my sister Mary and my brother in law Arnulfo for always being there 100% of the time no matter if they were extremely tired and how busy they were at work and to Jeannette for doing her part in showing us how to be humble by being the 1st to clip dad’s nails and do other things that we said we wouldn’t do. To my husband and my children Aracely and Ismael, Jr. for always praying with me and dad and helping him find peace.  A special thank you to Crystal Monsivais who helped her grandfather cross over to eternal life by talking to him in beautiful loving words and helping him to know that it was okay to let go.  Dad showed us so much during this time of his life.  Most of all he showed us how to love unconditionally by serving others.  He said when you love God, that’s where your riches will be, not the riches of this earth
